Want to spend less on Vet bills for your Dog, cat, bird ?

Common Diseases In Dogs and Cats:
Vet bills are out of site and my vet I have to wait in the room longer than I do with my Internal medicine doctor.
Want to cut those, here's how I did, I live in a larger metro area and I got a list of services and prices for the area's vets, I then called some small surrounding towns and got their prices.
Wow the difference is unbelievable shots 1/3 no office call and clip nails includes what was costing $200. now was costing me $60. and it doesn't take that much longer about 15 minutes to drive the 16 miles where it was taking me about as long to go across town, but I'd due it anyway for that kind of savings!

Common Diseases In Dogs and Cats:

Vomiting in your dog and what to do

Dogs always seem to vomit without regard for when or where they are located. Often times, dogs vomit with no apparent cause. As owners, we often think that our dog is vomiting because they ate their food too fast or drank too much water. But eating food quickly is a natural thing for dogs and does not usually results in vomiting. When your dog vomits, there is usually something more behind it than just rapid consumption of their food.

Once your dog begins vomiting, it can be very hard to get this process to stop. Vomiting can lead to seizures, dehydration, and end in balance in electrolytes. If you have a dog that has persistent vomiting, it is important to seek the help of your veterinarian as soon as possible.

Feeding your dog a liquid diet such as beef broth and chicken pot is a good way to reintroduce foods to your dog after a long vomiting spell . These foods only supply a very few number of calories that are excellent in giving your dog back their electrolyte balance. After one to two days of broth, you can start introducing small finely chopped pieces of hard-boiled egg into the broth. Then when somewhat calm feed them some rice and cooked meats also A very good thing to give your dog if it has a upset stomach is canned Pumpkin
not the kind that goes into pies because it has spice, but the plain kind it will calm your dogs stomach and hopefully get them back to normal.

How Does Your Dog Food Brand Compare?

This is a site I've been going to since 2005 when my Doberman died from food and the mistakes Vets made, below is from front page of the site and at the bottom a link to the site, do yourself a favor check it out, it's free!!!

How does your Dog Food Brand compare?

Are you concerned about the dry food your dog is eating? Looking for detailed information about certain food ingredients? Confused about inconsistent information about dogfood from pet food manufacturers? Need help comparing dog food brands and finding a better one?
Then you are exactly where I was when I first heard about the disgusting materials some pet food manufacturers put into their products. I picked up a bag of Science Diet and consciously looked at the ingredient list for the first time. Even without any previous knowledge I could see that it did not include any real meat and was preserved with the same chemicals I avoid in human food products. I never bought another bag of Science Diet and started researching and comparing products. One of the things I learned was that any commercial sources are best avoided if you want hard facts, not biased "infomercial" style sales pitches trying to sell you one product or another. Hopefully you will find this site helpful, make up your own mind about different food brands and their quality, choose a better food and who knows - maybe even save some money.

Pet food recall

An industrial chemical that led to the nationwide recall of more than 100 brands of cat and dog food has turned up in a second pet food ingredient imported from China. The discovery expands the monthlong case of recalls to include more brands and varieties of pet foods and treats tainted by the chemical.
his has exposed that the safety standards for pet foods are not in place in any significant way and the kind of drumbeat, day after day, of recalls has shaken consumers' confidence in the pet food industry's adherence to food safety standards," said Wayne Pacelle, president and chief executive officer of the Humane Society of the United States.
The chemical, melamine, is believed to have contaminated rice protein concentrate used to make a variety of Natural Balance Pet Foods products for both dogs and cats, the Food and Drug Administration said Wednesday. Here's some help if you're worried about the Junk they call dogfood now adays!
