that contributed to My Dogs early death...

...are you making these same mistakes?

Mistake #1: Vaccines - Given Every Year

Savannah

She's a year old Carolina Dog, Oldest known dog on in north america, she has some different instincts, there is a diamond shape on her tail that is a scent gland to enable her to scense something behind her in the wild, the mothers regirdatate the food for her young, because of needle like teeth. The fathers are part of the learning process for the puppies and the whole pack works together as a team in all things. The fathers will play, and teach the puppies.

The Carolina dogs are a Bitch pack, the female is dominant and get the males to do whatever they want, boy somethings never change.
These dogs are very loyal and affectionate pets, they still survive and thrive in the wilds of the savannah river valley!

My new pet by Frank

Pets and what they eat: Find the best food for pets of all kinds: "Congratulations on your new pet! Whether your new family member came from a pet store, a pet rescue organization, a pound, or a friend, your pet depends on you to meet their nutritional needs."
I was on a rant yesterday about the foods, vets recommend and services they provide and how it killed my Doberman.
I got a new pet last June of 2006, a 7 week old female Carolina Dog, we named her Savannah she was shipped to us from south carolina, where some still live in the wild.
They were the first dog on the north american continent also know as Indian dogs, and American Dingos.
She was born under an old oak tree in a burrow her mom dug and had her litter, mind you this is a breeder but she lets them, do what comes natural. So far she has become a tremendous pet and friend.
More later on some of their amazing qualities!

My Pet

My Doberman died about a year and a half ago from the Vets stupidity, she was 10 and was having her teeth cleaned and one repaired so they put her out and decided to give her all her shots that's a no, no the anesthesia then shots put her into a shock. After 10 days of emergency care 3 blood transfusions and $5,000. they said they didn't think she'd pull through and I should put her to sleep, it was a hard decision but I did it for her she was suffering and looked up with her big brown eyes. I still cry to this day thinking about it and her.
I have a new dog I'll write about another day, she's a sweetie, but right now I can't compose my self to say anything about my new girl. My Vet also recommended science diet, or Iams the major brands, find out later they're killing her also, read below!

I copied and pasted!
have had dogs, cats, and rabbits. But my favorite would deffinately be my deceased dog Tasha, and let me explain why.

When my son got Tasha (Part Sheppard part Wolf) he was 8. At the time he said mom I want that one she is special. Little did I know how right he was? We brought her home and she seemed to fit right in.She was housebroken in 3 days. Yes I know it's hard to believe but she was. My son and she were inseparable. Where you saw him you saw Tasha and visa versa. One day they were both outside and I went out to look for them. Neither one could be seen. I called out bother their names nothing. Then I heard this giggle. I said ok where are you guys where are you. A quiet but excited voice answered look up mom. I looked up and I was amazed at what I saw. A boy and a dog sitting on a branch in a tree. My son said looks what I taught Tasha mom. I said I see son and that pretty amazing. From then on our dog climbed trees. This dog was the best dog anyone could have had. She didn't bark, bite, or have accidents in the house. If someone dropped food on the floor she would look at you and wait for you to tell her it was ok. She was amazing. She was very protective over all of us but mostly my son. Then my son started College and moved to Michigan. Tasha and I even grew closer. She was now also my best friend. Then one day I noticed she started having accidents. I wondered why. I was concerned but still didn't panic. Well 3 days later I found her lying under her favorite tree and she wasn't breathing. I dug a whole for her and buried her. That was so hard for me to do. I put flowers and a rock which was her grave stone and put Tasha in loving memory. That was only about 4 months ago and I still miss her an awful lot Till next time

In memory of Tasha 1994-2007 I love you.

Train your cat to use Human Toilet

Toilet Train My Cat.com - Discover How To Get Your Cat To Use The Human Toilet:
"You may be surprised to learn that you can indeed train your cat to use the human toilet – just like “Mr. Jinx” from the “Meet the Parents” and “Meet the Fockers” movies!

You remember Mr. Jinx, he was the big, fat, silky-looking Himalayan with scheming green eyes who in these two very popular movies not only knew how to use the toilet on cue, but could also flush the toilet."

Truth be told that even before these movies popularized the idea, toilet training cats had been around for a g, long time.

For example, just look at all of the videos of cats using the toilet that have been posted on YouTube, MetaCafe, and several other popular video sites. There are probably hundreds of them.

The truth is, “toilet training” your cat doesn’t have to be difficult at all. Click Below!!!

Travel with your pet

Travel with your pet:

Don't you break out the pet carrier and hit the road with your best buddy Yet, you might want to think about it first. Some pets do best with a critter sitter or a boarding facility. A pet sitter will at the least enable your pet to stay in familiar environment, which is significant for dogs and cats.

If you do decide to take your pet with you on your travels, here are some tips:

All US airlines are required by law to permit assistance dogs and other service animals used by persons with disabilities to accompany the person in flight. Even so, airlines care for live animals as cargo, and your pet could be subjected to extremes in temperature, pitiful ventilation, and additional life-threatening conditions. If you decide to take your pet on vacation, consider driving instead of flying, or taking a bus or train. Neither Amtrak nor Greyhound allows pets. Do not ever send pug-nosed animals such as Pekinese, English bulldog*, or Persians in the cargo holds. These breeds have short nasal passages that leave them particularly vulnerable to oxygen loss and heat stroke.

A great deal of the same advice for dogs applies to cats. Whenever you are taking a cat in a pet carrier on a plane, be sure sure that your cat’s claws have been clipped before the flight. Don't feed your pet for four to six hours before the flight. Always travel on the same flight as your pet.

If you're like many ferret owners, you're looking for (immediate) answers that are hard to find since most of the complete pet care guides deal only with dogs or cats.

Maybe you too are frustrated by a ferret who smells bad, poops and pees all over the place, and gets aggressive and bites you and your houseguests...

Or you don't know the health problems you should be aware of, or what to do in an emergency...

Or you're not sure if you're feeding him the right food

Some of the information on this page may infuriate unscrupulous dog skin solution manufactures who pass off cheap, kitchen-counter solutions as expensive remedies."

If your dog has a serious medical problem, I recommend you take her to the vet immediately. However, the cost of a consultation at a vet’s office has skyrocketed. So I’m always on the look out for simple remedies that I can try at home before you're forced to drag your dog to the vet. If this sounds good to You Please do your self a favor and

Potty training puppy!

PetsIssues:
"'There’s plenty of dog trainers, each one saying something different – all claiming that theirs is simple, fast, and easy and the best. And since it’s so important to start your dog off on the right paw, I want to ask you an important question:"
Want to Housebreak that puppy???

Before you bring a puppy to your home, make sure that you prepare for a well-planned housebreaking strategy, as this is the most critical aspect of puppy training process. Housebreaking a puppy is also the most difficult process. Never be hasty, while housebreaking your puppy. Many dog owners try to housebreak their dogs in a big hurry. However, housebreaking is a tough task and a big challenge. You may need to be patient enough to face possible failures and frustrations while housebreaking your dog. Also, ensure that the housebreaking process is a pleasing experience, for both you and your affectionate puppy.

The total time duration for housebreaking a puppy actually depends on the breed of pup and his genetics. Remember that it is very difficult to control the bladder and bowel movements of the puppy for a week or two in the initial stages. Meaningful housetraining will help your dog control bowel and bladder movements. The secret of housebreaking is in essence, an element of uniformity, consistency and constant repetition of many training exercises and actions.

Golden Tips:

This list provides you some basic guidelines and tips that you must try to employ without fail:

  • Introduce positive enforcement, while training your dog. Do not forget to praise and reward your puppy, once he completes his allotted duties and tasks.
  • If the puppy fails in the assigned duties and tasks reprimand and punish him lightly.
  • Create a good habit of taking your puppy for short walk soon after the meal.
  • Set up a rigid feeding schedule and stick to it without fail.
  • Remove all feeding bowls and utensils near the dog, except during the feeding time.
  • You must try to understand your dog’s invisible signals. Dogs have their own ways of alerting you; if they are in an urgency to go out, they will walk in circles and sniff the floor.

Tips: The recommended age to start housebreaking is when they reach 8 to 12 weeks.

Facts: Always use a crate, when you’re housebreaking your dog. Crate is meant for sleeping and resting and it is not used for punishing your puppy. A create is also a very small area, where your puppy can move around freely without any hindrance. Crate will Text Box: have a locking doors and bars, that also allow an unobstructed view of surroundings. Also make sure that you never lock up your puppy for a long time. Your puppy will never soil his crate unless he has been confinmed for a long time. PetsIssues

Housebreaking is a critical procedure that teaches your puppy the place, where he is supposed to eliminate feces and urine.

Want to spend less on Vet bills for your Dog, cat, bird ?

Common Diseases In Dogs and Cats:
Vet bills are out of site and my vet I have to wait in the room longer than I do with my Internal medicine doctor.
Want to cut those, here's how I did, I live in a larger metro area and I got a list of services and prices for the area's vets, I then called some small surrounding towns and got their prices.
Wow the difference is unbelievable shots 1/3 no office call and clip nails includes what was costing $200. now was costing me $60. and it doesn't take that much longer about 15 minutes to drive the 16 miles where it was taking me about as long to go across town, but I'd due it anyway for that kind of savings!

Common Diseases In Dogs and Cats:

Vomiting in your dog and what to do

Dogs always seem to vomit without regard for when or where they are located. Often times, dogs vomit with no apparent cause. As owners, we often think that our dog is vomiting because they ate their food too fast or drank too much water. But eating food quickly is a natural thing for dogs and does not usually results in vomiting. When your dog vomits, there is usually something more behind it than just rapid consumption of their food.

Once your dog begins vomiting, it can be very hard to get this process to stop. Vomiting can lead to seizures, dehydration, and end in balance in electrolytes. If you have a dog that has persistent vomiting, it is important to seek the help of your veterinarian as soon as possible.

Feeding your dog a liquid diet such as beef broth and chicken pot is a good way to reintroduce foods to your dog after a long vomiting spell . These foods only supply a very few number of calories that are excellent in giving your dog back their electrolyte balance. After one to two days of broth, you can start introducing small finely chopped pieces of hard-boiled egg into the broth. Then when somewhat calm feed them some rice and cooked meats also A very good thing to give your dog if it has a upset stomach is canned Pumpkin
not the kind that goes into pies because it has spice, but the plain kind it will calm your dogs stomach and hopefully get them back to normal.

How Does Your Dog Food Brand Compare?

This is a site I've been going to since 2005 when my Doberman died from food and the mistakes Vets made, below is from front page of the site and at the bottom a link to the site, do yourself a favor check it out, it's free!!!

How does your Dog Food Brand compare?

Are you concerned about the dry food your dog is eating? Looking for detailed information about certain food ingredients? Confused about inconsistent information about dogfood from pet food manufacturers? Need help comparing dog food brands and finding a better one?
Then you are exactly where I was when I first heard about the disgusting materials some pet food manufacturers put into their products. I picked up a bag of Science Diet and consciously looked at the ingredient list for the first time. Even without any previous knowledge I could see that it did not include any real meat and was preserved with the same chemicals I avoid in human food products. I never bought another bag of Science Diet and started researching and comparing products. One of the things I learned was that any commercial sources are best avoided if you want hard facts, not biased "infomercial" style sales pitches trying to sell you one product or another. Hopefully you will find this site helpful, make up your own mind about different food brands and their quality, choose a better food and who knows - maybe even save some money.

Pet food recall

An industrial chemical that led to the nationwide recall of more than 100 brands of cat and dog food has turned up in a second pet food ingredient imported from China. The discovery expands the monthlong case of recalls to include more brands and varieties of pet foods and treats tainted by the chemical.
his has exposed that the safety standards for pet foods are not in place in any significant way and the kind of drumbeat, day after day, of recalls has shaken consumers' confidence in the pet food industry's adherence to food safety standards," said Wayne Pacelle, president and chief executive officer of the Humane Society of the United States.
The chemical, melamine, is believed to have contaminated rice protein concentrate used to make a variety of Natural Balance Pet Foods products for both dogs and cats, the Food and Drug Administration said Wednesday. Here's some help if you're worried about the Junk they call dogfood now adays!
